Dr. Conan Tu is a physician specializing in adult primary care with significant experience in diabetes management and patient-centered care. He brings extensive clinical insight into Type 1 diabetes and a strong commitment to youth health education. As Chair and Program Committee Chair, Dr. Tu guides medical accuracy, strategic partnerships, and ensures that KFD’s programs reflect best practices in health, wellness, and safety.

Dr. Maria Kondratyev

Dr. Maria Kondratyev is the CEO of Aeterna Therapeutics and an accomplished leader in biotechnology and clinical innovation. She brings extensive experience in scientific research, pharmaceutical development, and cross-sector partnerships. As Vice Chair, she leads the Partnerships & Innovation Committee, strengthening relationships with hospitals, universities, and healthcare organizations to drive scalable impact.

Treasurer

Carl Smith, CPA

Carl Smith is a Certified Public Accountant with decades of experience in financial leadership and nonprofit fiscal oversight. He has served organizations in roles related to accounting, audit, and compliance, bringing meticulous financial stewardship to KFD. As Treasurer and Chair of the Finance & Audit Committee, Carl oversees budgeting, financial reporting, and ensures transparency and accountability across the organization.

Alexander Stojadinovic

Colonel (Ret.) Alexander Stojadinovic served in the U.S. Army Medical Corps and brings exceptional discipline, integrity, and organizational leadership to KFD. With deep experience in medical operations and team management, he ensures proper governance, maintains accurate board documentation, and leads the Youth Ambassadors Committee, supporting leadership development and accountability within KFD’s flagship youth program.

Elena Mack

Elena Mack is the Chief Quality and Sustainability Officer at Sands, with a strong background in corporate strategy, leadership, and stakeholder engagement. She brings expertise in organizational development, fundraising strategy, and high-level donor cultivation. As Chair of the Fundraising Committee, Elena leads KFD’s annual development strategy and major fundraising initiatives.

Kevin Matasich

Kevin Matasich serves as U.S. Commercial Lead in kidney cancer and rare disease programs, overseeing national communication strategies, outreach, and product education. He brings exceptional marketing, communications, and strategic planning expertise. At KFD, Kevin directs branding, public communications, and national awareness-building across chapters and digital platforms.

Sabrina Guo

Sabrina Guo is a nonprofit founder, operations strategist, and community leader who guides KFD’s governance framework, board development, and strategic oversight. As Chair of the Governance & Nominating Committee, she leads board recruitment, compliance, and long-term organizational planning.
